Job description
We seek a full-time Subsurface Utility Exploration (SUE) Technician III position. The duties include, but are not limited to, standing and walking for extended periods, safely using a shovel to expose buried utilities, and other responsibilities designated by the crew leader.
Expectations and Responsibilities:
- 3 + years of SUE experience
- Highly skilled with RF & GPR locating (RF & GPR Certification Preferred, not required)
- Experience with RF and GPR designating equipment.
- Set up and utilize Land Surveying equipment.
- Operation of vacuum excavation equipment
- Maintain truck tools and equipment, and make sure the truck is organized and clean
- Mentors lower-level SUE technicians on proper designating and test hole technique
- Adhere to the ASCE 38-22 standards.
- Reads and understands blueprints and plans
- Skilled with the operation of vacuum excavation equipment
- Highly skilled with survey equipment (total stations and GPS)
- Land Survey experience (Preferred, not required)
- Able to correctly take measurements
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. or work as a team to do so
- Daily, show up to work on time according to the work schedule.
- Working outside in adverse conditions, including heat, humidity, rain, cold, etc.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Ability to work with others in a group or team and remain flexible despite interruptions and/or routine changes to priorities and/or job duties.
- Drive/operate company vehicles -Must have a VALID Florida driver’s license and acceptable motor vehicle record (Required)
- Willing to learn, detail-oriented, goal-driven, problem solver
- Strong work ethic and team-player attitude
- Fluent Spanish is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills to communicate questions and/or troubleshooting
- Occasional out-of-town travel may be required
- This position reports directly to the Field Manager.
